What do you get when you take a graying Ferris Beuller, an oddly adorable personified dog named Sylvia, and a wife who doesn’t like her? Not your typical “It’s Me or the Dog” story, that’s for sure. Matthew Broderick will star alongside Julie White in a revival of A.R. Gurney’s 1995 play Sylvia, the bizarre story of a man who adopts a stray dog that not only has issues becoming housebroken, but also nearly wrecks his home. Did we mention Annaleigh Ashford (of “Masters of Sex” fame) plays the pooch? Broderick’s real-life-wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, won a Drama Desk Award for playing the original role. Oct. 27 to Jan. 27, 2016, at the Cort Theatre. shubert.nyc
