Dial Me Up!

Little M Style, the oh-so-haute designer showroom that offers styling, personal shopping, retail and consignment to fashion savvy locals and the famous, turns three this year. “Our showroom is like a closet,” says owner Maria Williams of the space that features accessories for men and fashions for women from labels like Céline, Sophia Webster, Bally and beyond. With six years under her fashionable belt, Williams and her assistant are happy to help any walk-in select his or her most fitting style. After leaving a government job, Williams got her start styling her sister’s R&B group, RichGirl. She continues to work with reality stars—recently, she’s been lending her skills to movie sets. She can count Savvy a new devotee. 806 Reisterstown Rd., Suite 201 Pikesville, 443-213-5151, littlemstyle.com

Drama Queen

While Savvy awaits her blowout at the Corbin Salon, she shops the statement necklaces from the Petit Jewel Box. The jewelry counter (which resides in the salon) is covered in handmade beauties ranging in material, style and price. Sally Jane Hankin, owner/designer, creates about 90 percent of her merchandise—the rest she acquires internationally. The daughter of an opera-singing mother, Hankin has traveled the world and spent time in New York as a thespian. Her jewelry, priced between $60 and over $2,000, reflects that drama, like the Mexican heart necklace Savvy covets. Hankin works with moonstone, rubies, emeralds and more. 1422 Clark-view Rd., Baltimore, 433-600-2208

Doggie Bag

At a little café in Fells Point, the menu features such spoils as Belgian waffles with raspberry syrup, kale pretzels and overflowing cups of frozen yogurt… Sorry, those drool-inducing bacon-covered doughnuts are for the puppy party happening in the back! At the Dog Chef Café, canines are the only customers owner Kevyn Matthews cooks for. His café, with a specially designated play area for doggie bashes, sells an assortment of pup-friendly goodies, including burgers—served with fries—and peanut butter cookies. Since Matthews opened last August, he has hosted roughly two parties weekly. (What fun—Savvy may finally adopt that toy poodle!) Stay tuned this July for the Bark & Blues Festival brought to you by the café in partnership with the Maryland SPCA. 1712 Fleet St., Baltimore, 301-785-2998, thedogchef.net

Chain Gang

When Savvy was last at the Mall in Columbia, one of her favorites in the region since the ‘70s, she couldn’t help but notice that longtime tenant Kokopelli’s storefront was dark and empty. Her heart sank. Meanwhile, the ritzy 70,000-square-foot addition to the mall—it houses retail powerhouses like Anthropologie and Athleta—is scarcely three years old. There’s a Sephora, a Michael Kors, a yummy Chipotle in the food court, and the Victoria Secret Pink line has its own digs now, too. Certainly, the mall, like most American malls, retains almost nothing of its quirky original character. But, truth be told, it’s not like Savvy wasn’t on her way to the glorious Apple store when she came to this realization. 10300 Little Patuxent Pkwy, 410-730-3300, themallincolumbia.com
