Just days after the hearts of GoT fans across the world were broken (Hodor, no!), author George R. R. Martin will serve as the honored guest of the 50th annual Balticon science fiction and fantasy convention. Martin, the Emmy-award winning creator of the gory-glorious TV (and book!) series, will be available for autographs and more from May 27-30 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
And for total GoT super fans (i.e. those whose Drogo and Daenerys couples’ costume has been ready for weeks)? For a mere $1k donation (minimum), there’s The Feast of Ice and Fire, an exclusive dinner with Martin himself. Featuring offers from the Seven Kingdoms, each table on the dining floor comes complete with an extra chair for the fantasy writer, who will be switching seats for each course to talk with admirers and answer questions about his work.
Even if you’re not a lover of Lannisters or the like, Balticon has a lot to offer, from panel presentations and anime and film screenings to galleries and gaming of all kinds. For more details and to check out the full lineup, head to balticon.org.
