I love Baltimore in the summertime. The birds are chirping, Orioles games are in full swing and there’s an abundance of Old Bay crabs to go around … and not even a pint of Mint Mountain from The Charmery can make the heat bearable. We’ve all thought about shedding our clothes and standing in front of the AC unit all day, but that’s not always doable. And with the myriad of cute boutiques in the area, there’s no need to strip down. I visited three local shops to find the best outfits to beat the Baltimore heat.

A Style Studio

Walking into A Style Studio in Pikesville, one word came to my mind: bohemian-chic. I loved the stacks of denim on the wall and the jewelry trees overflowing with beaded necklaces and bracelets. The denim in particular inspired me, as there is nothing more summer-y than a good pair of white jeans. I paired these J Brand jeans with a Bella Dahl chambray tank with adorable stitching detail. The colorful Botkier purse gives the outfit some pop, and—of course—nothing cools me down like a good swig from a Swell water bottle. This is a perfect daytime outfit for sitting on the patio of Ouzo Bay with a glass of white wine and a salmon filet.

doubledutch boutique

doubledutch in Hampden is absolutely adorable, filled with both classic vintage and charming vintage-esque clothing. When I saw this Kling Accessories mermaid-inspired bathing suit, I fell into sweet summertime love. I love that the one-piece is such a trend right now, so I paired my new obsession with some cute MIA clog-like sandals, a DB vintage tote and some sweet peach-toned shades. Wearing this suit lying out by the pool give all those gals in bikinis some serious onesie envy.

Katwalk Boutique

When I asked the owner of Katwalk Boutique in Fells Point how she’d describe the aesthetic of her store, she said “fashion forward.” And she was definitely right: Her store is the perfect mix of classic and trendy. I saw so many cute dresses that I could hardly decide what to pick, but this white fringed dress by Colsten stood out. The Kent Stetson purse with a margarita print just screams summer to me, and these bangles by Brace Yourself and Elsie by Nicole add some spice to transform the look into a perfect going-out outfit. It’s so chic, but playful—great for a night out in Federal Hill with your girlfriends. (The margaritas inspired me to go grab some from Bandito’s myself!)
