Mr. Scherfel

Petal Power
Rosé season may be coming to an end, but Savvy is still thinking pink when it comes to her September sips. And now she can wear her wine on her sleeve (without reaching for the Woolite) with Yes Way Rosé, a new line of clothing and accessories from Baltimore-born designers Erica Blumenthal and Nikki Huganir. The two Instagram-famous Park grads fell in love with the blush beverage several summers ago, and have since splashed their clever slogan all over tees, towels, totes, stationery and more—not to mention Drew Barrymore, who was photographed in a sweatshirt of theirs over Memorial Day weekend. Blumenthal and Huganir have even bottled their own vintage, called Summer Water, which they swear pairs perfectly with a classic Maryland crab feast—Savvy will happily be the judge of that. yesway rose.com

The New Americana
Savvy wasn’t sure at first what to make of Mr. Scherfel, a tiny men’s store she came across on the streets of downtown Annapolis. The clothes lining the racks defy theNantucket prep look (a Naptown staple), instead favoring hipsterish collared and tee shirts and structured skinny jeans, primarily in shades of red, white and blue. But a closer peek around and a conversation with Mr. Scherfel himself (first name John, for inquiring minds) proved each item’s versatility and ability to match with every other item in the store. Savvy’s curiosity was piqued, too, by the shower essentials and housewares—delicious and masculine and made in America, with a sort of self-awareness that left her humming “Born in the U.S.A.” as she fingered a cotton bandanna on the way out the door. 49 Maryland Ave., Annapolis, 667-225-4304, facebook.com/mrscherfel

Sash Back
When Savvy heard Synchronicity Boutique in Pikesville was a sponsor of Miss Maryland, she couldn’t resist the urge to get a glimpse at the gowns in contention for Miss M’s role on the Miss America stage September 11. But you don’t have to be a pageant girl to reap the boutique’s regal benefits. Stocking diva-rific brands like Sherri Hill, Jovani and Mac Duggal, owner Karen Mazer’s store is also a great go-to for any gala or formal event. “This is a very different store,” Mazer says. “We start with a size triple 000 to 30W—I want everyone to be able to come in and have different dresses to try on, and to feel beautiful.” Feeling beautiful always works for Savvy. 25 Hooks Lane, Pikesville, 410-486-8866, synchronicityboutique.com

Second Time Around
To know Savvy is to know that she doesn’t do thrift … but with the rising visibility of vintage on the fashion scene, she felt compelled to give it another shot when back-to-school shopping with her niece. Enter Hunting Ground in Hampden, a massive mix of new Baltimore brands and pre-loved selections—20-plus years older and up—for men and women, as well as a delightful assortment of housewares and gifts. She was charmed by the kitschy-cute ‘80s tees (Gumby has always had a soft spot in her heart) and stunning renovated-church setup, and the prices weren’t bad either. Her niece picked up a few one-of-a-kind pieces to integrate into her wardrobe, too, including a plucky pair of acid-wash overalls. 3649 Falls Road, 410-243-0789, shophuntingground.com
