Marketing Communications 101

Students are invited to hear from senior agency leaders, including CEO and Founder David Warschawski, on how to best prepare for a career in marketing communications and land your dream marketing job.
This event is designed to offer college students with greater insight into the marketing communications world and answer the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
Whether you want to be a PR star, a graphic designer extraordinaire or development guru – this event is open to all aspiring marketing communications professionals.
What you’ll walk away with…
• A bigger picture overview of what it’s like to work in marketing communications and how different areas, like design, development, social media, PR, digital, and more, all play together
• An understanding of how to determine the types of internships and job opportunities you should be seeking
• Knowing what to focus on learning before you enter the job market – both in and out of the classroom
• Tips on how to get hired at a marketing agency and prepare for interviews
The session will wrap up with a Q&A session and light refreshments.
What are my transportation/parking options for the event?
If driving, there’s metered street parking available outside our building and free street parking located within a 5 minute walk on Kelly Ave. between Newbury St. and Sulgrave Ave. There’s also an open air parking lot at the corner of Smith Ave. and Newbury St. near the Light Rail stop. If coming by Light Rail, the Mt. Washington stop is a 1 minute walk to our office.
How do I get to the event?
When you enter our building (1501 Sulgrave Ave.), take the elevator to the third floor. Once you arrive, take a right down the hallway and you’ll see our office.
Should I bring anything?
Feel free to bring a notebook to take notes as well as your resume, cover letter or portfolio, along with all the questions you’ve wanted to ask about marketing communications.
